Basil Oil

  • 2 cups fresh basil leaves, washed and dried
  • 1 cup olive oil
  • Kosher salt and black pepper, to taste

  • In a food processor, combine the basil leaves with the olive oil until smooth. Salt and pepper to taste. You can use the oil right away as is. If you’d like a more intense basil flavor, warm it in a pan for a few minutes over medium heat then strain it using a mesh sieve. Let cool before using. Keeps in the fridge for about two weeks sealed tightly.
