Citrus Mint Martini

If you have any citrus salad with mint sugar left over, try this easy and fun cocktail.

  • 2 oz. good vodka
  • 1-1/2 oz. strained juice from citrus salad
  • 1 tablespoon fruit from citrus salad

  • Chill a martini glass by filling it with ice and cold water. While the glass is chilling, strain the left over citrus salad over a small bowl in order to separate the remaining fruit from the juice. In a cocktail shaker, combine vodka, juice and ice. Shake vigorously. Empty martini glass, then strain the vodka/juice mixture into the glass. Add strained fruit and enjoy.
  • Quick Tips
  • 1. My vodka of choice is Belvedere.
  • 2. I shared this drink with my brother-in-law and he had a very good suggestion: add a sugared rim. The mint sugar used in the citrus salad recipe would be nice here, though you might risk having very small bits of green on your lips and teeth. Maybe just plain sugar, come to think of it.
  • 3. You probably only need one of these. Just my opinion.
