Crusty Herb Garlic Bread

Perfect for when you have an assortment of random fresh herbs to use up.

  • 1 teaspoon thyme leaves, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon oregano leaves, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon flat-leaf parsley, chopped
  • 2 large garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Pinch of kosher salt
  • 1 small whole wheat loaf, unsliced (about 1/2 pound)
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • In a small bowl, combine herbs, garlic, olive oil and salt. Mix until combined. Cut the bread into 4 even sections by making deep cuts roughly 3/4 of the way down to the lower crust. Spoon or brush the herb and garlic mixture onto the exposed sides of the bread, evenly distributing herbs and oil on all sides. Wrap the loaf tightly in foil. Bake for 10 minutes. Serve immediately.
