Iced Herbal Cherry Tea

When we host get-togethers, I usually make a special drink. The kids like to have their own drink, too, and I often make some variation of juice cut with caffeine-free tea. It’s refreshing, barely sweet and the kids think it’s pretty cool to have their own cocktail.

  • 4 bags herbal mint tea
  • 4 bags herbal lemon tea
  • 4 cups boiling water
  • 2 cups tart cherry juice, chilled
  • 2 cups lemonade, chilled
  • Fresh mint sprigs, for garnish

  • Steep tea bags in boiling water for 10 minutes. Remove tea bags and discard. Refrigerate tea until chilled, about an hour.
  • Combine tea with cherry juice and lemonade. Serve over ice and garnish with fresh mint.
  • Quick Tips
  • 1. It’s important to use herbal teas here, if you’re serving this drink to kids. I used Bigelow Moroccan Mint and Celestial Seasonings Lemon Zinger.
  • 2. Use 100% juice if possible. Tart cherry is not terribly sweet, as the name suggests. I make my own lemonade from time to time, but for this recipe I used Honest Original Lemonade. It’s sold in 32 oz. glass bottles.
